LAURIMAR WETLANDS

Public BBQ

Tucked away in Doreen's developing suburbs, Laurimar Wetlands offers an unexpectedly serene barbecue experience. The picnic tables sit strategically positioned to take advantage of the wetlands' natural backdrop, where you're likely to spot waterbirds between flipping snags. It's one of those pleasant surprises where suburban planning got it right - the developers actually preserved something worth preserving. The BBQ facilities are straightforward and functional, nothing fancy, but the setting more than compensates. On weekends, local families claim their spots early, and you'll understand why once you've enjoyed a proper barbie while watching the wetlands come alive. A genuinely peaceful spot that feels much further from Melbourne than it actually is.
